2 (14.5 oz) cans diced tomatoes

1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes

1 egg, lightly beaten

1 tbsp. fresh basil, minced

2 tbsp. chopped fresh basil

2 tbsp. chopped fresh flat leaf parsley

3 tbsp. fresh parsley, minced

2 cloves garlic, minced

¼ tsp. garlic powder

1 tsp. granulated sugar

1 lb. ground beef

½ lb. ground pork

¼ c. olive oil

2 tbsp. olive oil

½ c. onion, diced

½ tsp. onion powder

1 tsp. dried oregano

1/3 c. grated parmesan cheese

3 tbsp. grated parmesan cheese

½ tsp. pepper

¼ tsp. red pepper flakes

¼ tsp. salt

1 tsp. salt

3 tbsp. tomato paste

¼ c. whole milk or buttermilk

Add the crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, basil, parsley, salt, pepper and red pepper flakes. Bring to a rolling simmer, then reduce to low and allow to simmer for 10 minutes. Add cooked meatballs and the parmesan, simmer for an additional 50 minutes, taking care to check that the sauce isn't burning or that the meatballs aren't sticking. Serve with cooked spaghetti or place or use for meatball subs.
