25 Macadamia Nut (or regular) Hershey's Kisses, roughly chopped

1/2 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed

1/3 cup toasted macadamia nuts — omit if using Macadamia Kisses

3/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup (4.5 oz) unbleached all-purpose flour

9 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract
