1 cup granulated white sugar

1 cup sifted powdered sugar (sift, then measure)

3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) salted butter, softened

1 1/2 cups sour cream

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

3/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

1/2 cup whole-wheat flour
